Mozilla Shooting for Record Books With Firefox 3 Release

Mozilla is aiming to create what may be the geekiest world record ever with its upcoming Firefox 3 browser release.

The company on Wednesday started a campaign asking users to pledge to download the next full release of its browser on the day it is available so the release can set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of software downloads in 24 hours.

Mozilla has not yet unveiled exactly when Firefox 3 will be available, but expects it could be as soon as mid-June. A test release of Firefox 3 is currently available online.

:chr: :chr: I'm in!! I remember when it went out of beta to the first public version people put DL counters on their websites and in signatures. It truly was amazing how many and how fast got downloaded.

It's available everywhere BUT from the FF homepage :?

No email here either. Been seeing others say (depending on time zone) 10am and 1pm.

3 here as well. We must have the same setup :slz:

It should still go towards the record. Downloading the installer and actually running the installer are two totally different things.

I think it got faster after a couple of restarts and is real fast this morning. Gmail even works like it should again. I listed the extensions that work. LOL there are a few that don't. AdBlock Plus just updated.
