Galeon

Postby rockingmtranch » Wed Jun 27, 2007 9:36 pm

So, I've been using Firefox and Epiphany. Now, I'll give Galeon a try. Here is what Ubuntu says about it:
GNOME web browser for advanced users
A standards compliant web browser, which integrates well with the GNOME
desktop environment. It does not include an email client, irc bot, website
designer etc., therefore has a moderate resource usage. Internally the
program uses Mozilla's Gecko rendering engine to display the web pages so
is fully feature complete and standards compliant, as well as rendering pages
quickly.

I'll use it and let ya know 8)

First impression: very nice. Took less than a minute to download and install. I decided to go to YouTube and see if it would play the videos. Yes it does. I'm going to keep this one for a little while.

Well, I gotta tell ya. After almost a month of using this browser, it's a keeper. The start page I guess appeals to me the most. It has all of my bookmarks on the page. I'm not a big browser buff so I haven't tried all of it's features I'm sure. I do get to watch videos in it and for me, that's enough. There's nothing worse than seeing 'Missing Plugin' and then 'No suitable plugin found'. 8)

Cain't post no pics in here. Cain't even post in Miscreants. Now sure, I can take a screenshot and shoot it over to PhotoBucket and then post the link but to what end? So you can see how messed up I keep my browser? :rotf:
