CLCL - is clipboard caching utility

Postby Dave » Sat May 30, 2009 5:56 am

Folks,

Here is a freeware stand alone clipboard caching utility. Has many features. I've used it for years (still do) with 98, 98SE, ME, XP & Vista. This program falls under what I call NNNAJW - No Nags No Ads Just Works.

Can support multiple users, and has a couple of plugins which I've not tried. Only needs one folder. Works from a thumb drive. Writes settings to it's own .ini file in it's own directory/folder. Retains cache entries from session to session.

Help file - well there isn't one. But it all seems fairly easy, at least to me. Your mileage may vary.

CLCL may be found at: http://www.nakka.com/soft/clcl/index_eng.html

From author's website:

CLCL is clipboard caching utility.

All clipboard formats are supported.
Template can be registered.
Pop-up menu is displayed by "Alt+C."
Menu can be customized.
Item is paste automatically.
Picture is displayed on a menu.
Tool tip is displayed on a menu.
The format to leave and the format to save can be set up.
The ignored window can be set up.
The paste key for every window can be set up.
Function is extensible with plug-in.
Freeware

While the above may seem cryptic - english is not the author's primary language.

Hope this helps someone.

Enjoy

Dave

Note: I also use nPop from this author, same site.

PS: Jean, don't know if this will fill the bill for you.

Jean,

If you mean Montana Menagerie it was because I was using Comodo and had found they were/are allegedly giving out certs to malware sites - see http://msmvps.com/blogs/hostsnews/default.aspx which expains about Comodo. I've used his HOSTS file for years and have had no problems with it. See http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm what a HOSTS file can do for you. I now use OA mainly because of what I read here and at their website about the ASK toolbar & Avast.

If you mean http://nakka.com I was looking for a simple small stand alone eMail program that I could take with me and nPop fit the bill. (read that as fits on a 1.44 floppy) Again it's a NNNAJW program. No registry entries, single folder program. The beauty of it is it will retrieve just the message headers if you want, and then allow you to delete the message based on the header only. That stops I believe all eMail borne virii/malware in their tracks and then being only text based stops a lot of virii/malware if you a decide to download and read the message. And since nPop worked so well figured I would try CLCL and it too became a mainstay.

Jean thanks for running the MM nice forum and I agree with trying to find things that work, with out being nagged, adverted, and otherwise taken advantage of.

Take Care & Enjoy

Dave
