Microsoft Silverlight and Windows Defender

Postby grits » Mon Jun 22, 2009 11:30 am

I keep seeing where people recommend Windows Defender so went to check it out & wanted to view the demo but when I clicked on it, it said to download Silverlight. So then I had to investigate what that is & still, after reading several articles, don't understand.

Can someone, using plain layman languge, fill me in on Silverlight?

Thanks,
grits

Silverlight has nothing to do with Defender. Defender is what used to be a good anti malware program from Giant, who is now Sunbelt. See this on Silverlight for a less technical run down. Free MBAM is much better than Defender IMO.

This really is very good here. I think people are skeptical about this. I read this post will help loosen up some more or less suspicion.
