Computer temperature?

Postby grits » Fri Nov 28, 2008 10:48 am

Every once in awhile when I'm sitting at 'puter I can smell something like warm / hot plastic or wiring. Is there somewhere in this machine to see what the temp. is, and how would I know if mine is too high? What is normal / safe temperature?

Most PC's do not come with a temp gauge. When was the last time you took the case off and cleaned it? You will be amazed at how much gets inside and clogs up vents and fan blades etc. How to monitor the health of your PC That looks to be a really good, article from a reputable source.
