Sorry. No. My experience with transformers and power supplies has been when they overheat, they are toast.

Jean, you might try looking for an AC Adapter at Radio Shack. They have a varie of voltages and currents depending on what is needed to power up your laptop. Male or female plugs for the AC Adaptor are interchangeable usually depending on what type you have need for to connect the adapter to your laptop. There most likely is a Radio Shack Store within 30 miles of your home, but if you try there take your laptop and (power requirements) manual along with you. The clerk should be able to assist you in finding the proper adapter and plug to power up your laptop.

I've gone this route already with a 147 Mhz Amateur Radio transceiver after being unable to pick up a nicah battery pack for use because it became outdated and batterys ran $50.-$60. and became a special order.

:cldy: Radio Shack's response, was "sort of" when I asked if they had an adapter. The guy went on to describe a duct tape and bailing wire like process they use to "maybe" get one made!! I ordered from the HP site before the battery died in agony. It should arrive in 3-5 business days.

Int the meantime, I couln't even get my desktop to turn on!! I don't know what has happened there. It has just sat for several months now. This is not good. I am doing OK now at work, because I can get online. But it's bad at home. I was forced to do laundry yesterday for lack of better things to do. :rotf:

:rotf: Yes it was plugged in!! I should have it back by this afternoon and the AC adapter by tomorrow afternoon. In the mean time I'm losing money and having to spend money. Not good at all.
