Tis the Season

Postby JeanInMontana » Tue Nov 20, 2007 3:26 pm

I'm seeing an increase in phishing spam in my personal email. I got a warning about the "season" also. PLEASE people use caution and just say no.

1. You did not win the lottery you never entered.
2. You are not the last living heir to a fortune located in Niger.
3. You do not want that dream job with the company you have never heard of.
4. DO NOT forward every email you get, if you must forward, take out all addresses and use BCC!!:whp:
5. Don't open attachments or click on links in emails unless you are POSITIVE and I do mean POSITIVE they came from someone you know. If I send an attachment, I make sure I say so either in the subject line or in the body of the email. Spoofing addresses is very common, don't fall for it.

Lats but certainly not least, use common sense. If it even sounds phishy it probably is. Use trusted sources for information and don't buy from unknown sources!
